Meet Pastor Darrell

I have had the privilege of living in New Glarus for almost two years now and I am loving the New Glarus community. I am so thankful for the opportunity to do ministry in such a family friendly town and with such a wonderful church family!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in Platteville, Wisconsin. I went all the way through the Platteville school system; from kindergarten – to graduating from Platteville High School and then after four years of study I received my bachelor’s degree in Business from UW-Platteville. I have now lived in the Madison area for a total of 19 years. So, I am a definitely a South-Western Wisconsin kind of guy.

I came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of twenty-four and immediately was called into ministry.  God called me and an old friend to start a Christian Coffeehouse in Platteville. After three years of coffeehouse ministry, I went to seminary at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN. I graduated with a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry. Since then, I have had the privilege of being in pastoral ministry for twenty-two years.

I have been blessed with a beautiful wife named Lynn. She is my life-long and number one ministry partner. She leads our worship team and is also the church office administrator. We have been blessed with four children, ranging in age from 21 to 11 years old. Our children’s names are Zach, Galeana, Jackson and Johnny Mack. For many years we have followed our children from one sporting event to another (soccer, basketball and karate). We have homeschooled all four of our children. Currently our oldest, Zack is in the Air Force and stationed in England and serving as an airplane mechanic. Galeana has just completed a one-year bible degree from Montana Wilderness School of the Bible. Jackson just graduated from High School and is in the process of choosing a career path and Johnny Mack is going into the sixth grade. Lynn’s mother has lived with us and has been a blessing to us for the last ten years.

New Glarus Bible Church is a wonderful church family, and we invite you to come and visit some Sunday! I invite you to pick up your bible, get a cup of coffee, get comfortable on your couch and join us for one of the many worship services that have been posted on our website or just come and visit you will be warmly greeted at the door and welcomed into our worship service.

In God’s mighty grip of grace,

Pastor Darrell Boomer
